The Met Office are forecasting several hours of heavy snow in the morning and into early afternoon, coupled with temperatures well below freezing, for areas including York, Ripon and the Malton area. In view of this, the leaders of both Ride 1 (me) and Ride 2 (Andrew Richardson) have decided to cancel their scheduled rides.
Individuals are free to ride if they wish. The route published for Ride 1 sticks to roads advertised as being treated, other than Waterside, Knaresborough. That is no guarantee that they will all have been treated on the day or that the treatment will have been sufficient to keep them safe for cycling.
